See Something – Say Something

Fortunately, my neighbors believe in that philosophy.

Last week, I received a phone message that startled me.  One of our neighbors had seen an OPEN knife laying on the water meter while she was on her walk.  When it was still there the second day, she called and left me a message.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING SOMETHING !!!

Owner?

I checked with my neighbor since it was between our houses and it is definitely not my knife. Nope, it does not belong to them either. We both checked with our maintenance people none of them claimed the knife.

Not sure where to go with this.  No one to return it to.

Disposal?

I was unable to easily close the blade – so now I have an open knife sitting on my counter. I want to get rid of it but definitely will not toss an open knife in the trash.

Any one want to take it off my hands?

Final Thought

This is definitely a case where the “See Something Say Something” motto helped prevent a horrible accident.  Suppose I child had found it . . .
