After our recent General Meeting of the HOA Board, I pondered what I could write to address what feels like pressing concerns for our Community. Right, wrong, or in different, these are my thoughts that I share with you.
Commons
As homeowners in our beautiful Community, we are responsible to maintaining the six common areas. As was discussed at the General Meeting, maintaining attractive commons (important to all of our home values) with beautiful plants and grass is an ever increasing problem. The maintenance and water costs alone are devouring our meager HOA Budget. Only a very few residents are willing to pitch in and hand water on a regular basis.
So what is the alternative?

Board
We elected our four HOA Executive Board members to work along side our six Block Captains for the coming year. Now, I would like to ask you for your help for this coming year. As you might have picked up already, I would love to see more neighbors get more involved with HOA Board.
Starting in January, I wrote a couple of articles encouraging more neighbors to involvement. Do you have suggestions on ways to broaden the appeal? (If you don’t remember them, check the back issues on the website.) Perhaps January was too late. So, I want to expand my quest.
Do you think it would be a good idea to include a few more “Get To Know Your Neighbors” interviews in the Newsletter? That would be for both newcomers and ‘old timers’ and everyone in between. I prefer doing video interviews (easier for me), but I could be talked into doing a few written interviews also.
Do you have another idea on ways to increase community involvement?
Would you be willing to be interviewed for this series?
