Pondering New Ideas?

Have you been pondering doing something different in 2022?

One suggestion that I would like to offer – look for something you can do for our little Community.  Along with all the negative that COVID has brought into our world, it also brought an increased awareness of family, friends, and local community.

Informal Gatherings

After the frustration of being housebound, a few of my neighbors began gathering on Friday afternoon’s to chat.  All properly social distancing with our lawn chairs.  I know I benefited from getting out of my house and talking to my neighbors.  That’s how I came up with the idea to do this newsletter.

What You Can Do: Why don’t you start the ball rolling around your cul-de-sac.  Pick a date and ask your next door neighbor to gather once or twice a month.  Don’t “overwork the problem”… just ask folks to spend a little time chatting together.

Leadership

In March we will be holding elections for the four elected positions on the Homeowners Association Board — President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

The Block Captains are also important leadership positions.  Rather than being elected by the whole community, each are volunteers from there smaller cul-de-sac areas and sanctioned by the HOA Board.

The three person Design Review Committee is another important leadership opportunity that is sanctioned by the Board

What You Can Do: Start thinking about putting you name “in the pot” for one of these leadership positions to support our community.

In the coming weeks, I will include more articles and information about each of these opportunities.
