Home Owners Insurance

Dear Neighbors,

Alla and I live at 12515 Enfield Park in the Gardens.  We recently received notice from our homeowners insurance company that our policy will be “cancelled” effective next month.  The reason given is: “The dwelling is ineligible for coverage due to the following unacceptable conditions.  Tree branches are in contact with (or suspended over) the roof of the dwelling....”

In fact NO branches are in contact with the roof.  There are, of course, a lot of branches suspended over the roof.  Some from our own trees and some from our neighbors.  I don’t want to lose any of my trees and I’m sure my neighbors don’t either.  I’m pretty sure this same condition exists with every home in the Gardens.

Our agent has requested photographs to show no branches actually touching the roof, but with no assurances that the company will continue our coverage.

We have applied for coverage with a different carrier, but will lose our multi-policy discount.

If other owners in the Gardens are having the same problem we would welcome any suggestions.
